Gunther Kieser Rock Music Posters

Gunther Kieser
Art Object Concert Posters
1969-1980

by PFA Publishing

This section of my Poster Gallery covers posters that were made by the German artist, Gunther Kieser.

Only concert posters are listed (those that have a venue and date on them).

For a number of his posters, Gunther Kieser created three dimensional art objects for the purpose of photographing them for use on a poster.
His most famous one is the Jimi Hendrix poster he created by taking a phtograph of Jimi Hendrix and adding colored wires to the image.
He also created dolls (Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, Who), plaster faces (Roxy Music, Blood Sweat & Tears), and even real people as an art object (Miles, Procol Harum, Tangerine Dream).
Those posters that feature a photograph of an "art object" are what is listed here.

This listing does not cover every poster that Kieser was involved with.
He did many posters that used a picture of a band or artist on the poster, and he did the layout and added text. These are not included here.
He also created posters with two-dimensional artwork. These are also not included here.

Any additions, corrections or comments to this listing would be appreciated.
