Notes: The original poster for the 2nd British Rock Meeting Open Air Festival that was planned to be held in Mannheim, West Germany on May 21, 1972.
This poster was printed with Mannheim listed as the site of the festival, and a blue background on the poster.
However, when the Mannheim city council refused to allow the festival to be held in Mannheim, the festival organizers (Marcel Avram and Marek Lieberberg of MAMA Concerts) first relocated the festival to Korsika, and then to Hockenheim where they planned to hold it at the racetrack. But once again the local city council objected.
Finally the festival was moved to Grun in Germersheim, West Germany. A new poster with a red background (see below) was printed with the location changed to Germershiem.
It should be noted that the Germersheim city officials also tried to stop the festival from happening (they issued a police order to stop the festival the day before it was scheduled to take place), but they eventually relented and the festival took place in Germersheim.
